Angela Thomas joined the staff at New Albany High School in 2014. She currently also serves as the fine arts department chair. Mrs. Thomas' long history with the NAFCS school system started as a student: she is a graduate of Floyd Central High School and a proud Floyd County Youth Symphony alumni.  She then became a staff member of FCYS as festival orchestra conductor in 2011.

Formerly, Mrs. Thomas taught at Holy Family and Sacred Heart schools in southern Indiana, and served as orchestra director at Valley High School in Louisville, KY.  Mrs. Thomas received her Bachelors Degree in Double Bass Performance from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, a Masters in Double Bass Performance and String Pedagogy from Northwestern University, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching Degree from the University of the Cumberlands.  

As a bassist, Mrs. Thomas has participated in the Indiana University Strings Academy, Brevard Music Festival, Domain Forget Music Academy, and the International Music Festival at Round Top.  In addition, she was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago for the 2008-2009 season and has performed in Europe, Jamaica, and parts of the US with the New England Youth Ensemble.  

Mrs. Thomas holds professional memebership in the American String  Teachers Association, the Music Association for Music Education, and the Indiana Music Education Assosication.  Mrs. Thomas lives in New Albany with her husband Jonathan.
